Public Risk Underwriters of Texas is the proud administrator of the PUBLIC EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION OF TEXAS (PEAT). PEAT is a property & casualty fund formed by the Texas Inter-local Cooperation Act to provide coverage for public schools, community colleges, and educational service centers. PEAT operates as a risk pool with “aggregate stop-loss” protection backed by reinsurers rated “A” or better by AM Best. PEAT is a financially secure alternative for Texas schools for property & casualty coverage. It has a foundation built upon a commitment to exceptional service for its members and responsive claims management.
